Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP)

What can it help with?

  • Joint pain

  • Increased joint mobility

  • Chronic skin ulcers

  • Gout

  • Back pain

  • Inflammation

  • Acute/Chronic sports injuries

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Tendinitis

How does it work?

Platelets are components of the blood which naturally aid in clotting and promote healing in damaged tissue. Injecting an injured area of the body with platelet-rich plasma can help reduce inflammation and accelerate healing.

Is it safe?

Absolutely. Because PRP is derived from your own blood, there is no chance of having an allergic or immune reaction. Side effects or complications of a PRP injection are unlikely. The main risks include local infection (< 1% chance), temporary pain at the site of injection, and minor bleeding equivalent to any other medical injection.
